Strangest Dog Breed Mix You've Seen

He wasn't the only dog I had to send away, a Pointer mix looking thing showed up, a Westie showed up... and some kind of orange dog. None of them local to the neighborhood! My girl must have been pretty stinky or something. If her temperament was better and she had higher drives we would have found her a husband. But we spayed her instead. I'm a big fan of stability in puppies, mixes you can't always tell what you'll end up with. I could only imagine the puppies from her and that basset mix. LOL

Not only the strangest mix I've ever seen, but absolutely hands down the UGLIST I've ever seen, was a ChowXChihuahua cross. I wish I had a picture, but dont'. The thing didn't even really LOOK like a dog, looked more like some weird kinds of creature from the jungles or Borneo or someplace like that. Or maybe a prehistoric era.

The weirdest dog I've ever seen isn't even a mix! It was a Pekingese at Westminster! I know some people adore the breed, but when I saw the best in class Peke waddling across the carpet in the Best of Show, a few words popped into my mind: guinea pig, pot-belly pig, small mop/duster. To me it just didn't register as a dog!
Hope I didn't offend anybody but they are just the weirdest things! Especially with that show coat, looks like a mop cavy that pants!

I agree! I had the same reaction that you did. No offense to anyone...but, really????

Most of the pekes I see are decidedly poor quality pets, but we do have one client who has a show quality peke. I think he's really cute in a stuffed animal kind of way, but I also think he's SO deformed that he doesn't even look like a dog anymore. I mean, everything about him is just plain wrong for a dog. He was only 2 years old the first time we saw him, but his teeth were so rotten that we actually prioritized the dental over the neuter! And we ended up having to do the dental in two surgeries because he lost a lot of blood and was under anesthesia too long on the first one. He was cute, but creating a dog with those kinds of problems should be some sort of animal cruelty. I haven't seen him in a while, so I guess he isn't having too many chronic health problems at the moment.

Not a Peke fan myself either, but I gotta say, they look pretty cute shaved. There's a gal here in town that does a Peke rescue, and she shaves hers. They look like little teddy bears. I really don't care for super squishy face breeds anyway, but these guys do look cute. This is the best pic I could find of one shaved:
