Truffle’s a boy and he’s definitely got boy energy! although I’ve known a few girl ducks who’ve been terrors. Truffle’s drake feathers don’t lie though.

29 28 ducks, hawk got one and I got a hawk plus a duck in the freezer now and it was a drake which I needed to get rid of a few. So I win.

I’m sick this week with a chest infection
Stella must have missed her mom time cause she wouldn’t leave me alone while I was trying to clean the pen
Her mate stood not far and allows her to snuggle with mom
They are breeding and she is laying eggs and he is not aggressive towards any humans
Yesterday my son who has hardly been around him came in abc picked him up and he didn’t get upset
We have only had him a few weeks now
I sure hope they mate again in spring / summer
I would love to hatch their offspring
Both have such gentle , calm and loving personalities

Very exciting day today
I went to clean my pen this evening and found 2 really tiny eggs
This means my last two babies are now laying eggs
All 5 of my girls from this years hatches are laying
3 born in may started 3-4 week ago and my July 15-16 babies started Today !! This means fresh eggs all winter
2 baby eggs are on the sides
Autumn and midnight
