Do y'all have any tips for getting ducks to go to a pond?

I've got 18 rouen ducks, and we have a big pond behind our house but I just can't get them to go in it!! I've tried leading them with food, I've tried putting them in the pond, but they just turn around and go right back to the house.

Any help appreciated!

do you know for sure there’s no snapping turtles in it? maybe they sense some kind of danger?

We do have snappers, but I figured they were gone by this time of year

DO NOT attempt to harvest sunchokes when there are ducks around. They were gobbling them up faster than I could dig them out!!!

LOL I have to harvest mine this weekend but my ducks can only watch and drool from the other side of the fence haha
They will force me to toss some over though

Ok here is the actual list.1) beautiful feathers, that's why I don't love khaki kambells. 2) could hypothetically be able to fly. 3) go broody. I ain't getting no more birds that can't keep themselves going. OK maybe I'll make an exception for leghorns and ISA browns
