The baby seems a bit better. Her poop was much more solid, but still stuck to her. She’s has periods where she seems weaker or stronger. Peeps quite a lot, and her sound is stronger. She’s not really eating though and no interest in dampened crumbles.

Keep trying to tempt her with scrambled eggs and warm mash. Is she still drinking? Hold her as much as you can with your hands over her so it’s dark. Mine would always go from pissed off and noisy to sound asleep in a few minutes.

She’s going to be ok! She’s acting like a normal baby now, except she acts like she doesn’t know how to lay down and nap. Here’s my little motley, hodgepodge crew of babies now, all together. The sick baby is in the center and has decided the biggest is her new mother and keeps diving under her wing.
She’s eating and drinking and scratching around and no longer wobbly, and I think we’re out of the woods.

Technically I know this thread is complete, BUT I feel like we reached another milestone and wanted to share.
She's been so unsettled and feisty and literally falling asleep on her feet and immediately jerking back awake when she starts to fall over. The only way I could get her to actually sleep was holding her. I FINALLY caught her actually nestled down and dozing.
Being a baby chicken is hard - she must be just so stressed and handling it worse than the others. I hope that doesn't mean she'll be a sensitive adult that's prone to being sickly, but if so, then she'll just be a pampered chicken I guess.
Side note - on this one, should I be monitoring her weight gain to make sure she's growing, or is it moot point to do so? She doesn't seem to growing as fast as her mate that's the same age.

If it were me, I’d just keep an eye on her and keep picking her up. You might want to weigh her every month or three once she starts to feather out. If she’s eating, drinking, and pooping, and not acting too strangely, just keep doing what you’re doing. Handling her gently and talking to her will help her thrive. Don’t forget, momma hens talk and sing to their babies, so it’s good if she hears you too.
