I have a mixed breed chicken that is roughly 7 years old now and seem to have the bottom of her ear lob swollen when I felt it it was hard but it looked sort of like a teardrop shape so only the bottom was swollen. I noticed it today and will post an image in the morning. In case it is relevant I recently a chicken that appeared to have a respiratory infection and had passed in the end. I did not yet deep clean their house and was going to soon but I did put garlic and ACV in their water after this issue.

Photos would be helpful.

Is she acting o.k.? No lethargy, etc.?

This is a photo of the swollen one though it cannot be seen in the photo it is sort of blue on the bottom too. She seems to be eating and drinking normal however a little bit more tired than usual but she normally isn’t very active.

Just to add to that she also wasn’t friendly before and would resist me picking her up but now she doesn’t move away

Have you inspected underneath and all the way around the earlobe including inside her ear for a scab, tick, puncture or infection?
Any lesions inside the beak?
I have just looked it feels a bit hard still and nothing underneath however there is something sort of like a scab above it seen in the photo.
Also how do you check For lesions?

Looks like a cut on the earlobe? I would look at that closer, that may be the cause of the swelling - maybe getting infected.
I may be the angle of the photo, but does the tissue surrounding her eye look swollen too?
To look for lesions inside the beak, pull down on her wattles and take a look.
