Oops I should have said, like a football with the fluffy part toward the front.

They really aren't red. Compare to the cockerel - a point of lay pullet will be that kind of red.I have 2 girls that are 15.5 weeks as well. They both have waddles and the area the cob is is getting very red. I could only get pics of one at the moment. Do you think they might be getting close as well?
I'm including pics of my cockerel and a couple others just so you see his handsome countenance.
Pretty bird, but still has a way to go. My 7 mo old SLW pullet.Such a beauty. Look how red she is. What do you all think? 16 weeks 2 days. Gold Lace Wynadottes
Could be either or, or anywhere in the middle. If the combs are plump and red and she's squatting, more likely sooner rather than later.Hoping its ok if i piggyback off this thread. We got 2 hens supposedly 3 months + old in june. Orpington and a bc maran.
In the last week their combs have gotten noticeably bigger and blood red. And the orp is squatting when we go to pick her up.
So even though we are in the depths of winter will she lay her first egg imminently or will it still be march?
