I could use some help figuring the dosage for my 5.5 pound GLW with egg peritonitis.
The prescription is dosed on the label as 1 tbsp per gallon but I don’t want to treat everyone I have a scale that measures grams if needed
Thanks for any help for my pretty girl.

Can you post a picture of the exact product you have?

Can you place her inside a wire dog crate with the medicated water and her food during the day, then let her roost during the day? Place the dog crate in the coop or run with the birds for company. Tetracycline is usually given for 7 days, or as long as 14. If her symptoms haven’t improved by then, the medicine probably isn’t effective.

Your vet may be able to give her a tablet that can be given orally 2-3 times a day. Amoxicillin is frequently used for EYP. Dosage is 250 mg twice a day.

Yes I can crate her. I have amoxicillin 500 capsules. Maybe is can open them up, mix with water and give her half at a time. My chicken vet is over an hour away and not in today

Amoxicillin does not mix in water. I would take a capsule and empty into a teaspoonful or more of something like canned cat food pate, cream cheese, peanut butter, or egg, and then mix it well. Give half in the morning and half in the evening. Give for 7-10 days.
