Egg Yolk Peritonitis?

Yes, it is normal to not have urates in a dropping. Urates or uric acid is the kidney waste. In post 12 her face looks blue or dark, which is usually because of a lack of oxygen in the blood. Maybe the light was bad?

Here’s some more in bright light from today.

Just wanted to see how her Hen is doing? I have a girl with the same symptoms she hasn’t laid in over a year I suspect peritonitis as well. :( today she seems worse was going to start antibiotics and jumped on to get some advice.

Unfortunately my girl died today. She had been acting like she didn't want to eat or drink and like she was in pain when she stood up since about Monday. I started her on antibiotics a few weeks ago and she seemed like she was getting better with less gurgly sounds coming from her belly. The last few days she had been pooping out what appeared to be egg yolk or very watery poop.

I've heard that oregano, cinnamon, and garlic can help.
Here's a forum about that https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/egg-yolk-peritonitis-and-natural-remedies.922604/

We lost our girl too 😭same exact thing pooping out egg yolk so I believe it confirms our suspicions. I’m glad she is no longer in pain but so sorry we both lost our hens. Honestly I’ve seen a lot of people posting similar issues with their hens makes me wonder if something is going on. Or if it’s just because it’s spring time and laying is kicking up. Sorry again about your girl it’s never easy 😩

I'm so sorry about your hen :hugs She looked so sweet. Yeah, I was wondering about that too. When I first posted I realized that there were like three other people with the same question. I wonder if it's related to the hatchery where I got my hens since most of my chickens who've had health problems have been from the same place. I think McMurray? I'm sure shipping was hard on them, though, and might have had effects later in life.
