The Moonshiner's Leghorns

Also Dad didn't even let us put birds in most of it, most of it was filled with junk!
Now he has a specific garage his junk is limited to, so it's better (also a spot in the basement, and sometimes it makes it into the attached garage.)
My bedroom kind of is the basement tbh.
The only dividing walls are for the bathroom but we have plans to finish it! But it's pretty great having such a big room! XD
It's much better than the 100 year old basement in the old house.
We always had to pump out the water 🫠
My dad did have a tool space there but it was much smaller and who would want to work down there?
It was a good place for a cabinet incubator though, very moist! XD

We did have them in my brother's bedroom once

You have a brooder building?!! :0
Although the garage is as good as one, and no need to walk outside since it's attached.

No big red shed here! But my dad built the most gorgeous coop out of barn wood!
My only gripe is it's a bit small. But look at it!View attachment 4086158
I worked as a crop scout this summer and I scouted the field that surrounded our old house so I did a bit of spying on the folks who bought our old house and they got birds too!
They are lucky we did so much to make it good to have birds in!View attachment 4086159
And painted it and point a metal roof on it (all just to sell it XD)

I don't know whether to say I moved or not though
I helped my parents move and I live there sometimes. I love living there!
But also I'm a student living in a dorm so I don't get to enjoy the fancy new house much XD
Such is the life of an eldest child.
You are a third parent two your siblings and then you watch them move into a cooler house than what you had.
But I am very excited because I will be rooming with my bible friends next year!
I’m the eldest of 4 so I definitely get being more like a parent than a sibling! Its exciting you are spreading your wings and being all independent. I had to do that when I was 16 and it was more like falling out of the nest than fledging.

Our brooder building is a big 12x24 foot insulated building. Nothing near as boujee as an attached garage. lol

If my chickens came over to your house to visit they would come back home and ask if we are poor. We live in Redneck, USA. God bless it! 😆
