What is up with people who spend a bloody fortune on chicks like that and don’t even bother to mark them to keep them separate? They just flock breed them and hope for the best. lolI had some from both of their lines. Problem was was I got them from someone that got both but didn't keep the chicks separated before giving them to me.
I can't complain though. That's when they were still pricey and I traded MF D'Uccles for them
I don't like the whites. Kind of defeats the purpose of them being autosexing. Besides they remind me of white Leghorns which I'm also not a fan of.
This dude was weird. I think he saw the prices and was one of those that thought he could just breed heavy and be rich in a minute.

Their crests are cute though! They aren’t overly big as I carefully select to keep a straight, not so crooked comb on the males. That is what keeps the crest size down. Bigger crest = crooked combs. My husband isn’t a fan of white poultry at all either. He says they always look more dirty. But ironically his White Leghorns are some of his favorite hens. He loves the big white eggs they lay.
See someone gets it! Yes, they are adorable! And they are such a gentle and calm breed. I am hoping the outcrossing to Legbar on the Crele Leghorn project will lead to calmer Leghorns in that line.
