Awesome! That’s what I was hoping for. I had questionable eggs last weekend when I candled so I think that’s going to be a solid plan.

Sounds like a good plan to me! The more eggs the merrier!!

The kind chicken lady gave me more eggs, so they won’t fit in my 360. I was thinking of candling the eggs in my 4250 and if the good number gets down around 22, just switch bators. Question… will it have any negative effects going from rocking eggs to rolling eggs? They are 2 weeks in at this point.

And so it begins.....

Yep. And soon it will be another incubator then a few more brooders then it'll be like..... so my truck can haul how much feed?

As suspected, more RIR eggs were bad. This time it was because the egg turner didn’t reset. I pushed the buttons and the beep happened but it didn’t reset. Anyways, RIRs are down to 21. I made the swap and now have 28 eggers in the 4250.

Well that sucks about the RIR eggs but at least it worked out for the new eggs.
I had too many other things going on today to do much beyond normal chores with my birds. Did stop at a garage sale today and found an old school fishing net for cheap.
Can hardly wait for some chicken to make an escape so I can use it.

It’s really great to be working in the area I’m that I am. I always see so many good ads in the market bulletin in the Jackson area, but that’s a good little ride for chickens or hatching eggs if I’m at home. Today, the lady was right there close by. I gotta really want these OEGBs. They are on the opposite side of Jackson from my work and where I’m staying. Don’t forget the bonus… highway construction.

Can hardly wait for some chicken to make an escape so I can use it.

When I bought my very first chickens, those people had a net and it was effortless work. I was like, I gotta get one of those but I never did.

So it’s lockdown time, I took the turner trays out and put the eggs into coffee filters in the maticoopx and added one bottle of water as per the instructions
Within a couple of minutes the humidity was up from 55% to 75%
But then the temp went up to 101
Then it started coming down and got to 98, then back to 100
It was all over the place I could see the filters fluttering under the fans

ABORT ABORT ABORT

I opened it up and removed the coffee filters and everything evened out steady as can be.

Now we know

10/10 recommend a net. When you have chickens too smart or fast to catch by hand, a net is crucial. lol

Wow! Thanks for doing that. I would have never taken the risk but sounds like it was over quickly.
