The Moonshiner's Leghorns

So it’s lockdown time, I took the turner trays out and put the eggs into coffee filters in the maticoopx and added one bottle of water as per the instructions
Within a couple of minutes the humidity was up from 55% to 75%
But then the temp went up to 101
Then it started coming down and got to 98, then back to 100
It was all over the place I could see the filters fluttering under the fans

ABORT ABORT ABORT

I opened it up and removed the coffee filters and everything evened out steady as can be.

Now we know
Yeah at least you learned early on, instead of ruining an entire clutch. It is a good thing you kept an eye on the temp and humidity for a bit afterwards.

There have been several tornadoes around my region. Luckily, none have hit the area where I work or where I live. I am at work now and we had to bring all the patients out in the hall earlier and have been under a tornado warning. My husband said our electricity went out a bit ago but only stayed off like a minute. I am praying it stays on. I really don't want my eggs ruined!!

This is an area about 20-25 minutes from my house.

When I bought my very first chickens, those people had a net and it was effortless work. I was like, I gotta get one of those but I never did.
They are handy. Not only they make quicker work of it it saves us old people from having to bend down so much.
My kid loves catching escapees especially chicks/juveniles. Some of my brooders have doors on the front so they're ready to jump out at every opportunity. He's quite good with the net and a lot of times has them netted before they reach the ground.

That's cool we know now. I would of never thought it'd mess with the temp. that much.
I love when someone experiments with ideas and shares the results.

I guess it is the season. Glad it missed you all.
We're now supposed to get a pretty bad storm starting Sunday night and lasting overnight. Night time storms suck.

Sticking with my shelf liners then.
