The Nice Rooster/Cockerel Thread

Is he a mix? I’ve never seen a silkie with a single comb. Is that common?
Unfortunately a lot of the "Silkies" you find in the US have some other genetics way back in their ancestry so you get a single comb pop out every once in a while, he isn't show quality now but I dont mind! His sister hen has the correct comb and other qualities. Oh he also has like 6 toes on both feet instead of 5 haha. Great rooster regardless tho!

That’s interesting! I was looking at the picture for a minute, I knew something was off but I couldn’t put my finger on it😂

I have been lucky in that almost all of my roosters have been nice. I've had a few favorites, and miss them dearly. But the roos I have now are also pretty good, too. I think my most special rooster was one who decided to adopt a litter of rabbits I had. He was a frizzle bantam of some kind, and watched over the babies as though they were his own chicks. Which was vastly amusing when they got old enough to leave the nest and scatter in all different ways, giving him anxiety. And the day they learned to use the tunnel, I thought he was going to have a heart attack, trying to order them back up from underground.
