Good morning old folks. I slept in thinking it would be raining. Well the guessers were calling for heavy rains this morning but we only got clouds that didn't give us a drop. I should have got a full detailing on the van. We are beyond dusty dry.

Good for you for sleeping in. Dogs were restless this morning - we were out at 3:00 AM. Been awake ever since.

We are also crispy fried dry here. Dangerously dry. We won't be cleaning up (burning) hurricane storm debris until it cools off and we get some rain. The gusty wind is the only thing that makes it almost tolerable outside.

I've seen my share of hurricanes first hand. We watched hurricane Charley snap oak trees like tooth picks from the family room window. Now power for weeks afterwards during the hottest time of the year. Knocking on wood we do not have to go through that again but know that it is possible here.

I watched from the LR window (in the dark, without power) as the trees were being tattered, listening to the 90 mph wind whip around the house. The most unsettling thing was hearing trees fall and stuff thumping around not knowing what was happening. There is just enough ambient light here with all the neighbor's outside lights that I could see the trees whipping about. Our side of the street looses power all the time, they do not behind us or the block in front of us. So frustrating.

Gonna go for a walk tonight when I get home as soon as I get home. Can’t wait for the crunch crunch of the leaves LOL not exactly crisp fall air though as it was almost 80° today but still gorgeous out LOL

Morning Old Folks dry here second day.
Sun is out did get up at 8, let dogs and birds out.
We have had allot of rain glad a few days dry.

It was windy today, but it was the dry north wind!

Based on tradition here, we should have rain in three days.

I checked the weather report and we show rain in 4 days!

Hubby heads to Charlotte, NC tomorrow to visit his dad. He's taking Freya with him. This is my chance to get a lot of projects done. I won't have to worry that Freya is too cold outside, or bored inside.

I just wish it didn't get dark so early now!
