The Old Folks Home

Originally there was a fort built about ten miles north of Abilene on a branch of the Brazos river around 1850 called Post on the clear fork of the Brazos until one night a nervous sentry shot at what he thought was a ghost of an American Indian. After that the fort was referred to as Fort Phantom Hill. The nearby lake got it's name from the fort. There is still a few chimneys standing from the fort.
Now that make more sense!

We have a son and his wife with us until Friday evening. DIL is always good help planting and chicken wrangling while she is here. We have about 50 new Crested Cream Legbar chicks in the brooder now. Some from Palm Sunday weekend and some from Easter Sunday weekend. We have our hands full between getting coops ready and getting the remainder of the garden planted.
