YUP! Got a pair of Pilgrim this Spring, remember?

They are both aggressive towards the other critters (chasing mostly) but not towards me. So far. We'll see in the Spring!
yes i remember now! what did you name them? mine are Charlie and Trudy. Charlie starts acting protective of her in late winter. she lays her first egg every year on or around my birthday (first week of March) she tries to go broody mid April. I did not let her the first couple of years and then I did but got the disabled gosling that I had to put down.. Won’t be trying that again unless it’s with someone else’s eggs.

Yeah, I remember that... So sad, after everything you went through.

Mine are Colt and Winney. They're being rebellious teens right now, wanting to be around me and touch me and chew on me, but Heavens forbid I try to touch them!

Here's a pic I took of them today. They were getting into stuff again:

I'm wondering if they may be mixed somewhere in their past, since they have a very slight lift at the top of their bills.

wow they grew up so fast ! they’re beautiful !

I'm not an expert, by any means, but I have read that if the female has a reproductive issue, and becomes infertile, she will grow a "dangler", a drake feather, start with the froggy quack(like froggie from the little rascals), and turn into a drake, IF there aren't enough drakes around already. 🤷🏻‍♀️ But then again, maybe the humidity is curling her tail feather.....😆
It is a hormone thing: When a duck shuts down the egg factory, they turn more drake like. Blanca Duck is over five years old, she has stopped to lay eggs this summer, no drake feather yet, but she is in the middle of a molt right now. And she behaves more and more aggressive towards the "real" drakes. - Mayhem found out the hard way yesterday, she was chasing him all across the duck yard until he jumped on the patio and hid behind the recliner.

I also read that if they have an injured ovary this can happen whereby they can turn into a drake. I have 4 older hens and don't need any big drakes so hopefully mine will all stay hens, lol. It was great to see you on here again Frank!!!
