The Silent Rooster

I'm someone who actually enjoys the sound of a rooster crowing. I had to re-home my larger flock with two roosters because of an upcoming move. I miss hearing them. He is difficult to get pictures of, but here's from in October with one of the hens in the background.
Thank you for the photo. He is a young rooster and his feather colour is so beautiful.
Aha, that explain why you worried not hearing your young roo crow, I have not hear of or know anyone love the sound of rooster crowing, your rooster found his right human parent . You must be living in a big land area and that you can have rooster. Your rooster will crow in no time, keeping quiet is not in their nature. :)

I prefer the sound of rooster crowing to the sound of traffic. Rooster is not permitted in my area. I had a rooster that lived here for 6/7 years by wearing a rooster collar. He crowed his mighty crow and it went on seem to be forever, I intervened by putting a collar on him to reduce the sound. I must say rooster is very special, the highlight of the flock. It does not feel the same without a rooster, both for the hens and me.

I am lucky that I live far enough from civilization that having a rooster isn't forbidden. I used to love when I had multiple flocks and multiple roosters singing the songs of their people.

That is so lovely how you put it.... Singing the songs of their people.
Rooster is beautiful and magical. I wish you many wonderful loving years with your beautiful rooster and roosters.

I do! My first rooster, Elvis, crowed practically around the clock. I loved hearing him crow. We have no near neighbors so nobody complained.
Now 2 people like rooster crow.
That is so nice that you can have rooster and your neighbour is the same.
I was constantly living in fear that my neighbours complaint as I am not allowed to have rooster in my areas. My poor rooster had to wear a collar, I usual put it on him on his 4th crows, then take it off and back on again, it was hard work for both of us. But to live a life, that what he had to endure. Anyway, he is now free from rooster collar, I had him put to forever sleep yesterday morning due to ill health and I regret it since.

I am so sorry for your loss. Roosters are indeed beautiful and magical creatures. You did what was best for your little man.
