This is the second time some idjit messed with the pen. Last time someone got in and took our RIR hen and rooster pair and tried to make off with 100 lbs of food. Guess the can was too heavy, but they got the chickens

same thing kinda happened to my family last year.got stuck in traffic and had to cancel a lesson so we got home early. went to check on the girls and these kids where on the trail with a bag of food and at least 8 pullets/cockerels and 6 eggs. the pullets wherent laying, and there was a lock. we knew that an adult was involved because they had a than of wire and the bag was 50 lbs. plus they where opening up the gate for a truck to get in. what annoyed me the most was that they did it during the day and had been watching our schedule they knew that i wouldnt have been there at that time.
