Electrician being one of the things I am, I can tell you that we still worry about things like that. Someone getting hurt, and/or property being damaged with your work involved. Things like that can happen even with you doing excellent work and following all codes. **** does happen. I can say that it has never happened to me, but you are always concerned about it a little. I would say the concern is not as great as your work is time tested, though.I did something wrong and someone will get shocked because I did it wrong.
They would because there is really no way to know it wasn't done professionally. If it was just straight out a crazy mess, and they could tell, then, some insurance may try to bail, but not usually as long as there wasn't something illegal suspected like arson or cooking meth etc... I mention cooking meth, because there is a nurse I worked with whose low life husband blew there house up doing that. I never have been able to figure out how she ended up with him. She got away from him after he went to prison, but she lost her home and the insurance company wasn't about to pay a penny.insurance won't cover it if the electrical wasn't done by a pro
Cooking meth. That's what I meant when I said insurance wouldn't cover the fire Seriously though, I've always heard that but did wonder how anyone would ever find out if it was a pro or notElectrician being one of the things I am, I can tell you that we still worry about things like that. I ride my bike around the neighborhood here. I have one dog who consistently would run out of the gate when I rode by. I have had the dog run after me and almost get run over several times. I stopped going that way. Then on another one of the streets I had a dog run out of a dog sized hole on a gate. Then the next time I ran by the same dog ran out but the gate was open too. I managed to avoid it and turn around in time. But the next time I went on that street I thought the dog wasn't out. Nope. It ran in my blind spot and right in front of me. I almost ran it over. It makes me mad the way people think they shouldn't put leashes on dogs when they don't want to close their gates or fix the holes.I used to see a dog out in public and think, "Aww, how cute."
Now, due to the incredible number of crappy dog owners up here, I find myself seeing a dog out in public and thinking, "I hope they're keeping that mutt contained and teaching it that it doesn't need to be barking just because it's breathing."
Edit: I don't like the automatic feeling of irritation that I feel now on seeing a dog.
I completely sympathize with your situation. If you think it's bad in neighborhood settings, it's even worse in the sticks. Out here in the boondocks, leashing or containing dogs is unthinkable!I ride my bike around the neighborhood here. I have one dog who consistently would run out of the gate when I rode by. Oh, I know. Out in the farming areas here there are loose dogs. I've seen them holding chickens too .I completely sympathize with your situation. If you think it's bad in neighborhood settings, it's even worse in the sticks. Out here in the boondocks, leashing or containing dogs is unthinkable!
