~***~TigerLily Trail's 2012 Foaling & Kidding Thread~***~ PICS of Zoe's Bucks Pg 7 Post #65

Just came inside from the goat pens & Zoe's ligs appear to have sunk. For the first time I actually had to push my fingers down to find them, & they also do not feel as thick as before. Hoping I will be seeing some kids soon

. She still has one hollow flank & one that sometimes is, but not as much, & sometimes isnt. Im thinking that if theres 3 or more in there then there isnt enough room for both of her flanks to completely sink. I will keep who ever is following this thread posted :).

i may not post all the time but i do follow!! hoping for kids for you soon!! our last doe is starting to bag slowly, and of course have the 4 mares that are over due lol

sooon i hope we will both have babies

They still havent popped? Sheesh! Which of your does still has to kid?

Zoe is literally going up & down in the sense that her ligs keep doing that as well one of her flanks. Her flank will be pretty hollow when I check her then next time round one of the kids it back there again. The other flanks has remained really hollow for days. Her ligs shrink & sink one minute then come back larger & almost as high as normal again next time I check on her

. She is seriously messing with me...

nope no foals for us yet UGH! our huge lamancha doe is the one that is left. we bought her and 2 others earlier this year, and the buck was still in with them when we picked them up. im hoping she goes by the end of the month. she will be real hard to feel her ligs as her tail head is real flat. i dont know how else to explain it lol

iim hoping by the end of the weekend we will have at least onefoal.. but lol who knows what they are going to do!

Keep you waiting till the leaves change color? Nah just kidding hahaha!

How exciting to have a bunch of kids and a foal bouncing around! I have to say though, if Amber's foal is a bay, then her sire couldn't have been a Palomino. You did say that they didn't know she was a champagne (which she is with those freckles and amber eyes) so their "palomino stud" may very well be a champagne as well, which means he could have a black base. The woman who writes the blog "Drafts with Dots" has done a pretty good series on color genetics, the champagne one is here: http://draftswithdots.blogspot.com/2010/07/champagne-and-pearl.html if you look on the left side you can see a listing of the other colors she's gone over. If you start at the beginning she spells it out pretty well.

Thanks for the link! Im just glancing through posts really quickly so ill read it later :). Not knowing Amber's exact DNA patterns doesnt help but I used this color calculator http://www.horsetesting.com/CCalculator3.asp, & I marked everything unknown for both parents & I marked Amber as an Amber cream champagne (amber = bay based) & heterozygous champagne. If im correct Dawn is the 7.29% chance of bay foal.

Its really fun to have all the babies around. Actually foal wise theres Dawn & a bottle baby im raising for a friend. Dawn wants nothing to do with me, but the bottle baby is pretty cool with me lol. Now if only Zoe would pop :p.
