I’d use what I have on hand, like Rooster Booster or Nutridrench, 1ml for every 3 lbs as @Eggcessive suggests in this thread:How might she do that?
This was a poorly timed emergency because we live remotely and my chicken first aid kit has been depleted. I am eager to go back to town and replenish my kit plus add new things to it!Hey everyone! Thank you so much for all the replies. I started them all on a round of ivermectin because that's all I had on hand and it can't be a bad idea. Since I didn't have any iron supplement either I told them to immediately start feeding iron rich foods like milk and meat. It's been a few days and I am happy to say the hen has gained almost all of her color back and is acting more active and happy! I expect she'll make a full recovery. Thanks everyone for the help!!!
I'm sorry to hear this. That is very odd. How old was the hen? I have no idea what could have caused that. But I'll tag a few people who might know - @Wyorp Rock @azygous @EggcessiveFinal Update: Unfortunately the hen passed away. She was doing great but a few mornings later she was contorting her body in odd ways looking miserable, it was obvious she was suffering so my sister in law decided to put her down. I was curious though so I opened the hen's body up and noticed many abnormal things. First, her lungs were an odd shape looking like an extra lung somehow morphed into one of the existing ones, they were also a brown color. Her heart was tiny, I almost didn't even see it. The dark green thing ( is that the gall bladder?) was also like 4 timed the size of a normal chicken's. The most peculiar thing was however that I found pieces of whole food lodged in her body. I am positive I did not puncture anything and her crop was empty. I found the butt of a red onion almost large enough to fit in the palm of your hand lodged between her lungs and heart. My sister in law said they hadn't had a red onion in 3 months. In addition to that I found pieces of corn and chicken feed too just hanging out clinging to her odd organs. It was such a weird case. So, thanks for all the help guys, looking on the bright side at least it isn't something that poses a threat to the other flock members I guess...
Thank you! She wasnt even 2 sadly.I'm sorry to hear this. That is very odd. How old was the hen? I have no idea what could have caused that. But I'll tag a few people who might know - @Wyorp Rock @azygous @Eggcessive
Thank youVery sorry for your loss. I have never heard of food parts being found among the internal organs. Could she have had a tear in her crop or gizzard? It is good that you did a necropsy. Did you take any pictures of her organs to post here? Sometimes we can help with opinions. The picture below is of an enlarged gallbladderand liver. The gallbladder was said to be distended due to not eating. The article is here:

I'm sorry about your hen.The food was under all of the organs. I don't even know if I saw an esophagus! I opened her up and this is what I found, I didn't move anything before this picture
