To pinless peeper or not to pinless peeper- that is the question

Ok so Lucille Roberts fell off too- will redo her and Luna's after lunch

Anyone have a good video of putting them on that they can share?
All three are on! I will keep you posted- no one is really showing signs of discomfort or freaking out- they are eating and drinking and walking about

probably should have done this years ago

Hi Guys!

Almost a week in and wanted to provide an update, Luna's peepers continuously fell off, so she does not have them on, nor is she currently picking any feathers of hers, or her feathered flock friends.

Mrs. Butterworth adapted really well to the peepers, she is eating, drinking and laying.. however I still catch her pecking at her sisters (with no harm because of the peepers) but this tells me the behavior is still there and we have more work to do

Lucille Roberts adapted well to the mobility and drinking issue, but seems to be at a loss for finding food. I have gone ahead and put out a large bowl of water and a large bowl of her pellets to which she can eat and drink from. I have no worries about her drinking, but she is not eating as well as I like. I am currently bringing her in every few days so she can eat in peace off of a flat paper plate which is working well. I have seen her become more subdued as a result and do not think she will need to wear the peepers quite as long as Mrs. Butterworth.

So for now we have peace- and I will continue to keep you updated...

I am taking it week by week- trying to get both Lucille and Mrs. Butterworth to 3 weeks (so 2 more weeks) to see if the behaviors really change.

Of course it doesn't help that we are in the dead of winter with snow and cold temps- keeping them in for the most part.

I may also supplement with some manna calf 25% protein mixed in with their regular 20% feed in the morning mash.

Thanks for reading!
