Toys for geese?

All of those are good ideas. I've been trying to figure out what my geese could play with without hurting themselves. Right now the stinkers have figured out how to pull the plug out of there pool. They are also tugging at the plastic that hangs from the garbage cans and pulling on seat cushions. I have to admit, I just love it when they come running and screaming with there wings out. It so makes my day...... lol.

I don't know specifically what they might like, but they are curious and enjoy playing with things.

Despite this awful heat, I was working outside this weekend, building new PVC roofs for the runs that my turkeys and ducks are in.

I had a bucket full of bags of various pvc fittings.

My 3 geese had a great time pulling the bags out of the bucket and then pulling the fittings out of the bags. They did this for close to an hour today.

I think my geese just love to flap their wings like crazy the same as everyone else's. I put a mardi gras necklace on some chicken wire hanging so that they can nibble it. Also I put a jolly ball and a squeaky toy. So far I haven't seen them playing with it but usually when I catch them doing anything they run off into their little house. I am trying to get my geese to like me but the ducks seem easier. I think their gang is too big for them to see me as part of their group. I have tried catching my geese and petting them and giving them peas but they wont even eat them when I am holding them they get so scared. Oh well. Thanks for the ideas.

Mine also likes infant toys. Just got her a squeeky giraffe with a plastic mirror on the side. It's durable and also has a jingle to it. Goo$e hissed at it and then enjoys pulling on it. I hooked it onto the side of her coop.

The all-time favourite is the beaded curtain. He'll pick up a mouthful of string and then throw them about and watch them swing back and forth. Here's a video:

Other popular toys are shoelaces, flip-flops, crocs, and - if I'm not there to stop him - any kind of insulated wire.

I have a lovage growing close to his tub, and he will chew off large sticks of it and place them in the water. Then he'll chew them up into mulch.
Mine do the same with sticks! I couldn't figure out why their pools always had sticks in them, thinking they were falling from the large trees above. One day I sat in a lawn chair watching them, and sure enough, they picked up sticks, brought them to the water, and dunked and chewed at them. Such entertaining and endearing creatures!

The little (HA!) stinkers! Thanks for telling me about that. I'm learning more about them every. I see why Muscovy are compared to them. My Muscovy are a lot calmer and more personable than the Welsh or Golden Cascades. While I love ALL of my ducks, I'm finding the challenge of getting to learn "goose language" fascinating!
