I may be wrong but I believe that the red patches on the wings are indicative of a male in EE. So he probably is a boy simply based on color.

As long as he’s nice, I don’t mind—my sweet Silkie rooster was just killed by a predator.
But I’ve had 2 jerk EE roosters before—he’ll sit his butt in chicken jail if he doesn’t act right.
