So, in the 3rd photo is this what you're referring to as squatting? That is not a submissive squat position. I've never seen any of my fowl rest on their hocks that way, and I would suspect that there is something wrong, leg weakness, vitamin/mineral deficiency? Since no one else has said anything, maybe it's normal? It's not a normal position for any of my fowl, so just pointing that out.So, I was fully convinced I had all hens. I’ve even posted this one before and been told pullet but all the sudden my she is starting to look like a he and started doing three crow like sounds every morning. The weird thing is this bird also started squatting lately though so we were sure it was a hen but now with the new noises I’m thinking roo. Although I’ve heard hens can crow it doesn’t seem to be this early. He/she is 16 weeks old. Lavender Americauna is the breed we were told she is.
I agree that is not a submissive squat. I don’t know what it is but it’s not POL behavior. So, in the 3rd photo is this what you're referring to as squatting? That is not a submissive squat position.
