Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I got one of my raised beds weeded, and half of it mulched with grass clippings. The onion/shallot/beet bed didn't get mulch. Once the plants get bigger they'll block sun out to the weeds. The brassica/lettuce bed looks good with the grass clippings mulch. I'm happy with it!

The short plants with roundish leaves in the back corner of the mulched bed are watercress. First time I grew it. Tasted it today and it's peppery.

You do grow a lot of food! I'm happy if I can make my marinara out of my own tomatoes. But, I should have my own garlic and bell peppers this year.. I'll buy onions. Tried that before with no success.

I had oregano in my garden bed for a couple years. It took over a space of about 4x4 feet. Now I will keep it contained in the greenhouse. It will never die out if you let it go.

Air drying works perfectly on herbs
I still have two oregano plants in my garden I started from seed a few years ago. They're each about a foot in diameter now. And I have sage, thyme and oregano plants in pots too.

My goal is to buy as little produce from the store as possible, ideally none at all. I still can't seem to grow cabbage successfully though, so I'll buy it when I need it. Gotta have my sauerkraut!

I grabbed 4 bags of this today so I can repot herbs. Saw it on sale when I went for water and made hubby go back with me.

Repotted 3 herbs so far. Apparently the oregano I'd thought was dead last year, came back up so I have two now. Tarragon made it through winter. Only manages to if by back of house.

We're going to have mostly sunny days for the next 10 days. I'm so tempted to get the tomatoes in the ground. What do you all think?
I would plant them only under wall o waters. After seeing how tall your plants are I would wait like others have recommended. Wall o waters are what I use and they made a huge difference in my tomatoes, but they are a pain to set up.

Thanks. That makes sense. I've never seen those Wall O Waters before. Great idea.
