Hi, I’ve got an australorp hen who has a bald head. Because of her size, when my rooster mates with her, he doesn’t grab her comb, but the feathers right below her comb. It’s not over mating or anything, he’s an EXCELLENT rooster, and my hen seems to fancy him. She follows him around, sleeps beside him and such. And he has a flock of 17. No other issues, no naked backs or shoulders. Just this one bald head. I’ve tried rooster booster and it doesn’t seem to do much good. Any suggestions about what I can do?

Dealing with the same thing my a little serama hens are his favorite but they have small combs. I even thought about putting a hat on so he'll have something to grab.

Isn’t it crazy? Our poor bald chickens :( if your hat idea works, or you figure something out, let me know!
