Hi guys every time I screen search this pic of some of my new 4 month old/18 week hens it comes back as buff Orpington yet the guy says he only stocks a mix of chicks of commercial brown egg layers off a big serious breeder he knows that only breeds commercial brown egg layers, so my question is, what is this breed? He also had 3 other breeds he knew was in the bulk mix of chics off the usual commercial egg laying breeder which was columbian black tails, lhoman browns, bovan browns, and then these really light really pretty girls that I just had to get 3 of along with 2 really nice black tails with the black feathers in the wing tips and tail feathers so they was easy to see they was what he said but what the hell are these pretty light brown almost creamy beige coloured supposed commercial egg layers if there not buff orpingtons as there not commercial egg layers?????? Her sister behind her is a little bit darker still not as brown or ginger as any of my ISA browns tho or my Columbian black tails I got off this guy too?? Iv looked up marigolds as they are quite light and known good egg layers but they seem to have light speckles going thru there body and these don't??

I don't have any ideas, but those don't look like buff orpingtons imo
Thank god for that not that I have anything against buff orpingtons they look like beautiful birds but end of day I only want top egg producing genetics In My back yard coop that lay an egg basically every day to feed me n my family and I was getting worried I had been sold 3 buff orpingtons with my mix of 5 brown production egg laying hens..

Yeah, buff orpingtons are usually bigger and darker coloured.

Yea I thought that to cheers for that, these are 17 or 18weeks now and any 17wk old buff Orpington I Seen pics of already was alot bigger n chunkier by then.. maybe gold line? Gold comet? A few darker hens of DeKalbs? Or actual DeKalb browns maybe? Marigolds are similar light brown gold beige egg layers like these but look like they have speckles going thru there body and mine only have a few light markings on there necks other than there creamy biege feathers everywhere else? It's driving me crazy tryna work out what production/commercial egg layers these are? Seeing as they come from a egg production/commercial egg laying breeder that this guy always gets he's chics from??

Iv also seen a UK website selling black tails and "blue tails" together that basically looks like a very light creamy brown like these with white tail feathers n some of them have a very slight tingle of blue in the white tail feathers cud possibly be those seeing a s this guy also had legit black tails that have bold black tail feathers bold black wing tip feathers, and some had a bit of black markings ringed around the neck feathers too, so these could possibly be from that line of blacktails and "blue tails" also I was thinking maybe?

See ??

Let's hope I'm wrong coz also look this breed only lays 180 to 200 eggs a year?!?? That's nothing compared to ISA browns?!? I may have to get rid of these and replace for proper brown egg layers.. we will see in the next 2 months..

No some of them deffo had that neck ring also at the guys farm I picked these up from in this bunch bro but I picked the black tails that didn't have that and had only the black tail feathers and black wing tip feathers, I'm on about these lighter ones looking very similar to the alot lighter coloured "blue tails" that is also pictured in my post with the black tail with the black neck ring my friend see the comparison to my light brown beige 3?
