I have 27 chickens that I received as day olds about 6 1/2 weeks ago from Murray McMurray Hatchery from their rainbow layer special. I received a variety of breeds and would like some help to id them since I am still new to chickens. I think I may have a vague idea what some of them may be, but am still not sure. I had started a thread about this a while back when they were still tiny chicks, but then it was too early to tell. Here is the other thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...at-breeds-do-i-have-lots-of-pics#post_9453385
Also, let me know if you think you spot any cockerels! The order was supposed to be all females but I think I am beginning to spot some more reddish combs, and I am almost positive that as least one is in fact a cockerel. I am not sure on some of them if the more reddish combs is because they are just getting older, or because they are actually boys!
As far as I can tell, all my birds have a single comb except for one.

Here are the pics:

And here are some individual pics:

I think these may be brown Leghorns? I have four of them.

These three pics are all the same bird. I'm not sure if it is a Cuckoo Maran? As you can see, he/she has a bigger, more upright tail than the other black and white ones.

Idk what breeds these are, perhaps Rhode Island Red, New Hampshire Red, or Red Star? Any idea which breed these may be? I have 8 of them. They all look the same to me except that one has slightly darker plumage.

This one has a very red comb. I worry that he may be a boy. What do you think? I also think he may be a Barred Rock, but not sure.

This is the same bird as the pic above.

Are these guys Cuckoo Maran or Barred Rocks? I have six of them.

I have three of these. Are they White Leghorns?

This one is my favorite. I think she may be the free exotic chick. Is she a Black Langshan? She is not completely black, even some of her wing feathers are white.

This guy is one of my favorites as well. I am pretty sure he is a cockerel. I think he may be an Araucana/Americana. What do you guys think?

Let me know if you need more/better pics. Thanks!

welsummer or brown leghorn, leghorn will have white earlobes, welsummer red

I'd go more with Rock, Cuckoo Marans are usually darker and the barring isnt as clear. They are more dark grey/ light grey than black/white

Red Sexlinks

Marans have white legs, rocks have yellow

yes

most likely, cochins usually have heavier feathering, she will molt out the white feathers later.

Easter Egger Cockeral
Let me know if you need more/better pics. Thanks!

McMurray doesn't have Welsummers, so brown Leghorns.
Barred Rock Pullet
Red sexlink (Murray calls them red stars) Pullets
Barred Rock Cockerel
Barred Rock Pullets
White Leghorn Pullets
Black Langshan Pullet, The exotic since they are pretty rare
And an Easter Egger cockerel, which Murray calls Araucana/Americauna's. No huge difference
If you can only keep one rooster, I'd do the EE, because if you hatch chicks some of them would lay blue/green eggs!
Very nice birds, good assortment!!

Brown Leghorn Pullets
Barred Rock Pullets
Red Sexlinks or Red Production Pullets
Barred Rock Cockerel
(left) Cuckoo Marans Pullet (right) White Leghorn Pullet
Cuckoo Marans Pullets again
White Leghorn Pullet
Black Langshan Pullet The white will be gone after her first Molt and Her Earlobe will turn white as she ages same as the Brown Leghorn
Definitely EE Cockerel

i can say yes to Black langshan.....they will molt and will lose the white looks like a american breed not as tall and the white around the face should be more .its not a Croad but still a gentle giant and p.s. will be broody in a year some will want to sit on clutch after clutch if conditions are right

Thanks for the pictures. I never thought I'd like looking at chicken pictures but I do. Sorry but I'd like to post some pictures of my newest group of ladies, but there are so many knowledge people here.
I let my daughter pick out 4 more girls to add to my flock of 15. I wanted all isa's because of egg production. They picked this group from TSC and have no idea what we got. Hopefully we don't have a rooster. Any ideas thanks

First is Production Red cockerel, second a Midnight Majesty Marans pullet, last two are Cornish X meat birds :( You may want to look into euthanasia/butcher methods for the latter two or be committed with giving them a strict diet if you want to prolong their life

Thank you. Any ideas on the little guy hiding in the first and third picture? I'm going to have to give away of the meat birds. I have two coops and runs now and don't want a third. I'm sad because the big white one is so friendly, she is like a puppy and comes over when I check on them.
Thanks again.

She looks to be a Gold Partridge Dutch Bantam pullet assuming she develops white earlobes! :)

Wow, you're amazing. I found a home for the meat birds. So no heart break there. The gold Partridge Dutch Bantam will live with my polish silkies (I hope) and the other two will jump in with my isa brown's. Now I have to find 4 or 5 more isa's to replace the older girls.
Thank you very much.
