What did you do in the garden today?

Maybe you should test the soil in that bed. It could be too acidic or too alkaline.
Probably a good idea... The soil there is just normal dirt... I really need to add more soil but I've held off because I didn't want to harm the few plants that are still growing.

I also forgot to mention that I do get a ton of Bachelor Buttons in the spring in one of the beds over there... But by and large, no summer flowers whatsoever.

Yes, the seed heads. I haven’t cleaned out or packaged up most of the seeds yet, I’ll probably keep putting that off. 🙃 Some of that is just me being lazy but I don’t need them packaged right away, they’re not all finished and I have enough fall stuff to keep me busy.
I had a volunteer oregano plant come up a foot away the other two, from seed I assume.

I bought one of those 20V rechargeable battery operated 6-inch chain saw to prune small branches off my trees. There was a larger 12 inch one, but I went with the smallest one since I have an electric powered one if I need to cut large branches. I bought it from Walmart on an impulse.

I was surprised to see the palm brand corn beef locked in small clear plastic cases. I bought 4 of them and they removed the cases at the checkout register. It must be a hot item, since the Libby's brand was left out like other can goods.

bought some hyacinth and tulip bulbs.

anyone canned chicken/ducks with bones so that bones are soft and edible? there was a girl on the island I lived before that has a brother who makes it that way. she moved to another island so I cannot find out how to do it. if I understood well her brother does it in a pressure canner. I know he puts pieces of muscovy ducks in jars. is there any other way to can meat in jars except in a pressure canner?

I doubt that a water bath canner would be safe for meat. We only use a pressure canner for chicken. Have no ducks or other poultry. We vacuum seal and freeze most of our chicken. I think Ma has already canned some chicken with her counter top electric pressure canner. I'll ask her once she is up and going come morning.
