What did you do in the garden today?

I need to plant my beans. And squash. And cucumbers. And tomatoes. The soil is finally warming up here. And after I get those planted I think I'm done planting until it's time to plant my fall crops.

I have been told (by a dietitian) palm sugar is bad. go figure.
Creating palm plantations destroys acres and acres of rain forest. To me, that's what's really bad about those products. I don't think the sugar is unhealthy, nor do I believe palm oil (a saturated fat) is all that bad for you in moderation. It's the ecological damage that's bad for you, me and the planet.

I was walking barefoot on the ground when planting the beans and the soil felt kind of hot. Perfect! Still need to water them in, then' I'll move on to tomatoes or squash or cukes.

That's it. Everything is planted and the greenhouse is now empty, except for the supplies.

My snow peas and pole beans are popping up, will need to put up the trellis they grow on this weekend. It’s really just cecil baling twine hung from the top of the block wall to the ground, I keep it about 4” from the wall to allow for air flow; one strand of twine every 6-8”, the beans grow up this to create a living wall! Then when Autumn comes I cut it all down and throw it on the burn pile.

This creates a nice cool wall behind the growing plants.

stevia powder to use in my coffee as a sugar replacement. Dang, that's nasty stuff!

DH doesn't like it at all... Says it has an aftertaste.
Agree. I don’t care much for Stevia - always have a bit (or a lot) of an aftertaste. I used to buy some protein snack bars but then they had an aftertaste starting about 2 years ago…yup added Stevia, but also has sucralose (which is considered not to be “natural” )

My husband can’t tolerate Stevia - it gives him tummy troubles.
Sounds pretty much like all "science" these days... 😂 They tell you it's bad and then a few years later they say "oh, never mind. We were wrong... Carry on." 🤪
Haha. In high school a student in my class had a mom that worked as a nurse. She (student) would tell everyone that no more than 2eggs a week -bc more than that is horrible health wise (as told to her by her mom…. Who was just repeating the trend of the times, which was villainizing eggs). Yeah, I eat more than 2 eggs a week, and usually more than 2 a day… and I’m still alive.
