I looked it up and it’s called clumping bamboo @TJAnonymous. Just make sure it isn’t illegal to grow it in your area.

I gave my tomato plants a good haircut today, trying to shock them into ripening the fruits more quickly now that the weather is cooling off. I'm not sure how much it will help but at least I can see most of the tomatoes now.

DH also brought me home a bamboo cutting. He really wants some planted even though it can be very invasive. Since it was raining yesterday, he plopped the cut end down in the mud and left it outside. This morning I picked it up intending to cover it with rooting hormone and put it in water. To my surprise it already had an INCH LONG root growing out of the node and several more root nubs started! All that in just 16 hours in wet mud! Wow... So I cleaned it up a little and stuck it in some wet soil in a pot....

I hope you don't regret that bamboo plant.

I dead-headed the flowers in the garden and put all the seed heads in the pollinator patch. I still need to build an irrigation head for out there, but HD is out of one of my parts.

I managed to get the shade cloths down before the winds started.

Rains won't come until next week. Come on tomatoes, get with it.

Bamboo out here is very invasive. I looked up my white bumpy squash.
Not really solid name but a great hard skin and good vitamins.
Great tasting a light orange inside will grow them again.

Question on canned pickles. I have dill and bread and butter pickles that are 2 to 2 1/2 years old. I have a storage cabinet in the basement thatI put my home canned goods in. The pickles look fine. I hate to toss them. Thoughts?

Start eating sandwiches and hamburgers for lunch daily.

Went out and did some weeding on the garden. My husband helped me with the mowing and weed whacking. I need to get more done but at least I got most of the crabgrass pulled out away from my berry bushes.

I decided to dig up the last of the potatoes, got around 10#, red and white, big and little. I'll save 20 or 30 as seed potatoes for next year's garden.

I watered the grape vines. I also did some more cleanup on the tomato bed.

80s for the next 8 days. Zero rain for the next 8 days. It is getting crispy out there.
