What did you do in the garden today?

I put an all-purpose Gumout fuel additive in my gas tank and ran the tank empty, but my jeep still needed two to three on/off 7 second key turns to start. I suppose to wait 3,000 miles before adding more fuel additive but went ahead and put a different Gumout product called Fuel Injector cleaner in my gas tank. The car was still having the same problem at half tank, so I thought that maybe the fuel additive had something to do with it. I decided to fill the 1/2 filled gas tank up to full and this morning my jeep started up on the first 7 sec turn of the key. I'll know if I solved the starting problem tomorrow or latter in the evening when I start it again.

I probably didn't need to add the Fuel Injector cleaner, I should have followed the direction and filled it with regular gas after the first treatment.

Had less than half inch
Does she eat your chicken eggs or honey?
Sadly, no on the honey. I should say rarely. Eggs yes but sparingly when plentiful. She prefers store bought in the winter when hens lay less. I no longer have chickens, so store bought. She seems to think store bought produce is better also. I prefer home grown on everything. 55 years together.

Sorry 😔
I know some people that don't eat home grown, totally different perspectives

I have been pondering what this is so I decided to use picture this. It's holy basil but now I don't know what to do with it.

That's my life here as well. It's been 106+ everyday since Tuesday.

Which has put my fall/winter garden on hold. I need to start pulling out pepper plants to make room for garlic and amend the soil in all of my beds. I'm going to start more beets indoors this weekend, and new cabbage.
I was thinking about getting some starts going, but I think I’m going to wait one more week to see what the weather is going to do first. It cooled down to the upper 90’s but then went back to 110-117 consistently again.

I thought this was the Thai basil. Apparently not .. and I must get some.

What Is Holy Basil?

Holy basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum), is an aromatic flowering plant of the mint family that is native to India, found throughout Southeastern Asia. It is not the sweet basil leaves you put on your margarita pizza, or the Thai basil herb you use to garnish your pho! It is a different plant that is grown for religious purposes, essential oils, and its medicinal qualities as an adaptogen.

Within Ayurveda, tulsi is known as “The Incomparable One,” “Mother Medicine of Nature” and “The Queen of Herbs,” and is revered as an “elixir of life” that is without equal for both its medicinal and spiritual properties.1 Ayurveda is one of India’s traditional health care systems and one of the oldest medical systems in the world. Taking a holistic approach to health, Ayurveda encourages regular consumption of adaptogenic herbs that enhance the body’s capacity to maintain balance while being exposed to a range of stressors.

I leave mine on the tree. It takes a long time for them to turn yellow. I only pick them when I need them or when they turn yellow. They turn yellow after I pick them.
It's starting to get chilly here at night. I usually bring my tree inside when it starts dropping below 50 degrees at night. Naturally the tree isn't a fan of being moved or chilly nights. It currently has about a half dozen full sized lemons that are somewhere between green and yellow. I thought maybe removing those might help alleviate some stress on the tree... It still has a ton more lemons growing which are still very immature. It also has active blooms too. I don't expect to need to move it in the next week or two but probably by the end of the month.

I bought a Holy Basil starter plant off the clearance rack last summer for $1. Got it home and discovered it was just a mislabeled pepper plant. 🙄 A few weeks ago I thought about it again and decided to order some seeds to plant next spring. Now I just have to figure out where to plant it...
