What did you do in the garden today?

We got over an inch of rain, and expect more tonight. :ya

I hauled 4 bucket loads of compost up to the green house for next year's starts. I need to empty out the compost bin and get it all up there.

I planted a redbud tree that had been living in a big bucket in the garden, and put some fence around it to save it from the deer.

My MIL trees are loaded this year. We are picking on the 16th. Most of the trees in our area look really good but the threat of a freeze is really high this year already. These are all in California though.

I hope you get a good oil content. You may find that the oil volume is still good per kilo, and that there's just less water in the fruit. Assuming the fruit isn't mummified or rotten. We've had very good oil in drought years. So there's still hope!!

thank you for the hope. this year's drought is the worst one ever.

I need to cover the beans again tonight. I haven't needed to for the last 3 nights. At some point, I'm just going to pick the beans and hope they can ripen and dry off the vine. I think we'll get a frost too severe for a couple of sheets to keep them safe.

I think I can get another week at least, though, before that happens.
