We reuse the dog food bags as poop collection bags when cleaning up the dog poop in the yard. The same bag that provides the input provides for the output. I'm sure the garbage man dislikes picking up our trash!

I'm so excited, DH & I finished the garden remodel - new fence & all, which was unexpected. 150ft of chicken wire. Still need to stake the apron down & zip tie it all around, but that's the easy part.

We also finished getting the stone down on the GreenStalk side, there will be 6 GSs there.

Look what I found on my local buy nothing sell nothing...I'm psyched for these chairs (theres 2). I've been wanting a set for the deck but not wanting to spend the money. The color is so me too.

I also got most of the Dahlias dug up & drying to go into storage. 2 more to do tomorrow.

Oh I got the back side (the hard side) of the plastic up on the run too. It's a little early but figured I take advantage of the warm days before my fingers are frozen trying to do it.

And the good news is my back held up to it all. This spinal cord stimulator has given me my life back and I am SO grateful.

Good news. Is the stimulator surgically implanted or an external thing? I wonder if it helps for nerve pain and cervical pain? I have both.

Caught a mouse in the bucket trap. I hope it was the smart one. Bought snap traps and glue traps. The war is on.

Lucky you! I still haven't caught a single thing with the trash can trap. I'll need to clean it out because of the rain and move it inside the coop maybe to keep trying...

One of my barn cats killed 3 rats last week though...

I finally checked the rain gauges in the garden and confirmed we got 5 inches last weekend. Started raining again this evening and expected to continue all day tomorrow.

Garlic is finally sprouting.... Broccoli and cabbage are flourishing now that grasshoppers are gone. The Nantes carrot tape I put down doesn't seem to be sprouting so I may have to use a different seed packet. But I did notice I had some tomato volunteers coming up... Sorry but I don't think you're gonna make it, little guy. Dahlias are blooming again too. I'm leaving them in the dirt this year... We'll see if they come back up in the spring.

I also saw a whole bunch of divets in the grass all over my garden area. I can't figure out what it's from? Maybe squirrels digging? They are about golf ball sized depressions in the ground that are just dirt, no grass. Whatever is causing it is not doing it in the vegetable beds... Just in the grass areas.

Raining here for us today, so not much gardening will be had other than a quick run around with the blood & bone between showers.

How to make a DIY pet poo composter​

Make your very own pet poop compost bin at home by following our step-by-step guide below:

1. Grab a large plastic drum or bucket (with a lid).
2. Dig a hole in your backyard that’s large enough to fit the bucket – only leaving a few centimetres at the top above ground.
3. Using a saw, remove the base of the bucket.
4. Drill many holes on the side of the bucket. These holes will be how worms in the soil can enter your pet poop composting bin. Important note: Leave a few inches from the top where your bucket will be above the ground – it won’t be as effective if there are holes at the top.
5. Place your bin into the hole and add in a layer of small rocks or sand for drainage. On top of that layer, add in dirt or soil as well as a bit of water to dampen.
6. Put the lid back on the bucket and you’re done!

Hot tips before you start making a pet compost bin in your backyard, make sure you do the following:

1. Add your pet waste to grass clippings, plants or other organic waste. You can even add sawdust, as it helps with the decomposing process.

3. Ensure there aren’t any holes or the lid is not properly sealed as composting requires a sealed environment where temperatures may reach 50-60C degrees (ideal for natural decomposition).

It is implanted. I have 2 electrical leads in my spine between my shoulder blades that run to a battery implanted below my waste/top of my butt. It is most specifically for nerve pain (mine is my legs) but has helped with my actual low back pain a bit too. Here's a pic, you can see the battery, wires & my fusion hardware but can't see the top of the leads, the pic cuts them off. I know everyone here has seen this (sorry all, lol), but I swear by this implant so I tell my story to anyone that asks. My spine surgeons never mentioned it was even a thing, I had to see a pain med doc after 15 years of pain & failed surgeries. It has literally given me my life back. /tmi lol
