What did you do in the garden today?

They're dry-ish. We're supposed to get more rain tomorrow. Monday is our only "nice" day in the forecast, so we wanted to get as much done today as we could. Then Monday we can do other stuff.

I plan to spend the day outside as much as possible Monday. We're into the grey days of November. I need sunlight.

Canna lilies that were going to start crowding the other flowers. I loosened up the soil next to the small shed and tamped them in. Cannas are hard to kill, they should do fine over the winter.

When the weather turned to cloudy, cool and wet here I lost my energy. I'm going to pull out my bottle of vitamin D3 and start supplementing. Sunshine pills.

Went to a seed swap today! Found some hardneck garlic nodules, have to plant those and see if they do any better than the store bought cloves.

We're in USDA zone 8a, usually get only one 2" snowfall each year. I don't miss it.

I'll try to dig my new garden area. it is down the slope and will be protected by duck coop from the north. I'll sow peas next week when we expect more sunshine.

Apparently the Brussel sprouts could not hang in there anymore. Warm and cold up and down temperatures. I’ll be feeding the greens to the old hens. The salad greens and carrots are still growing so I can leave them for now. I vacuumed up 2 bags of leaves yesterday. It’s still too windy use the blower function so I just sucked them up with the vacuum attachment that also mulches them. Those went on the asparagus bed. The wind has blown most of the leaves into piles of sorts but it makes vacuuming them up much easier. After the leaves are cleaned up and distributed to the garden beds I’ll be moving the lavender plants onto the front closed in porch to spend the winter with the strawberry plants.

Hubby ran the mower over the side yard one last time to get the leaves into a long pile. I raked it up and hauled it to the garden.

I still have chard down there. I need to pick and freeze it. Maybe today; not supposed to be as nice a day, and then there's all the football on the TV to have in the background.

Thats a pumpkin, that's the type of pumpkins they sell at my local supermarket. I only see the big orange ones being sold in the Halloween month.
