What did you do in the garden today?

I’m finished with the garden for this year. It’s been an exhausting week or more. I got the chicken coops winterized, set out some poisoned treats for the rat patrols, Christmas shopping is done (I think), putting up the Christmas trees and my lovely Thanksgiving/ Christmas cactus is blooming nicely. I’ll take pictures later I promise. My strawberry plants on the porch are still blooming but the temperature is dipping into the lower teens in a few days. Wah!

Happy late Thanksgiving everyone!

Been busy over here. We got rain last Monday. I built out my "cold frame" (it's literally just my raised bed hoop tunnel. But! Things are growing. Silverwhite garlic is finally starting to put up leaves though the mulch. The rest are almost all up. Carrots are slightly more than sprouts but they are growing.

Clover in the orchard is coming along. There's decent weed competition but that's ok.

Out front I did allllll that work and put down so much pre-emergent.... There's weed sprouts allllll over! 🤣

Reached into the corner of the broody cage to add some food into the feeder bowl. Psycho, flighty broody went bonkers. Knocked all the food out of my hand... 🤬 But I did get a brief glance at the nesting box. There's at least 1 hatched chick. Not sure if there's others yet but when I candled them on Sunday, they seemed close. If I don't hear more chirping by Friday, I'll candle them again....

I just planted 2 Red Snapper tomato plants from Hoss Tools and sprayed them with captain Jack's Neem Oil. I also cut the main stem off my long squash and dropped the nylon netting to let the sun in. The plant leaves were drooping this afternoon, so I covered them with an insect net, and they perked up. This is the first time covering my tomato plants with this insect net so early. I think it will keep the white flies off them, but I need to set up some borax ant baits and maybe some commercial ant baits to keep the ants from mining aphids. Hopefully everything works out and I don't have to spray again and again and again.

are those street legal?
I was thinking about one but no one local sells them.
Yes, they are here but that depends on your state. Top speed on mine is 85 mph but it probably wouldn't be safe over 70 mph. Perfectly fine to use as a farm truck or local runs to the feed store or landscaping shop.

The dealer I bought mine from was an hour away. He imports them from Japan... But he also sells them to other dealers all over the country and ships them so I'm certain you could have one shipped.
