What did you do in the garden today?

I would love to do what you do, move to the country and have my rooster, just a few ....as long as my chicken math allow it.

When I was younger, I wanted to move to the country, but I was young, just started out in life, jobs are in the city. Now I am older, need to be closer to the big hospital and specialists. Take a leap of faith....too much fear. 😄

I did have 4 garden beds, but I no longer grow anythings as the weather is so bad & too much insects eating everything. Whatever left in there are growing on their own, surviving what nature gives them.

I don't go to the doctors but there is a big hospital near. I live about 20 km from a mountin (ski center), 12 km from the beach and 65 km from athens. a dream place.

Hello everyone! I haven't been active on BYC in a while, and as a result it has been the better part of a year since I checked in on the Gardening Forum! How have you all been??
I live in a zone 6 area, so it's not quite the gardening season for most crops yet. Pretty soon it'll be time to start growing some seedlings under grow lights in the house, though. 🌱

Surprise!! My winter crop of potatoes produced even with the unusual cold weather.
🌻
I'm working up beds today and adding some rabbit poop and soil. Hopefully the sweet potatoes survived enough to sprout.

G’morning all. Temps are in the low 80’s but we have a ten degree drop in temp coming within a week. I had to protect the small chaste tree a little better, the chickens dug around enough to expose a few roots. Also deconstructed a shade thing where I had the ducks pool and put my wire cages there for composting. If I can find the leftover weed barrier I may put a strip around each one to help hold moisture but that will be another day. Also wet down the bedding in the coop so I can turn it tomorrow and then let the chickens take over. I slacked on that some over the winter. Moved the duck pool over between a couple of Arabian lilacs that I’m growing to block reflected heat from our north wall. I’m going to use some welded wire and shade cloth over the pool until the lilacs are bigger. I scheduled our bulk trash for later this month, so happy to get rid of the stuff. I’ve decided the kitchen sink out there is not in the right location. The little tree drops everything into it and it’s a mess. I may move it into the shade garden and use it for something in there. For now my break is over and I have some rebar to pound into the ground. Have a good day all.
