What was unhelpful about the heat gun weeder? Lack of control, or ineffectiveness, or something else?

I have large areas and some of these dang blasted things will come up under and then through mulch. Mulch helps, though, that's for sure.

My Shiro plum arrived late yesterday. Need to plant it today. Picked up 4 free bristle nose plecos for the aquarium.

Yesterday I peeked underneath the row cover I placed over my brassicas to see if the daikon seeds had germinated. Nope, not yet.

I decided to top my pepper plants this morning. I trimmed all 6 Jalapenos and 2 of the 3 Hatch chilis. I didn't touch the Habaneros since they're short and stocky.

One of the Jalapeno plants had already formed a small flower bud.

I have the fan blowing on them to speed up drying out the cuts.

We're still in the frost-possible zone, so I'm not doing much out there yet. I did crunch up the dead leaves in the strawberry box and mix them into the soil the other day, and I'm fully in the "enrich with coffee grounds and eggshells" zone right now. Other than that, it's a houseplant party.

We're dealing with another atmospheric river so mother nature is doing the watering for me. Now apparently I have to start cleaning my house.

I’ve heard boiling water can work for weeds.

Yes, but the area in question is 300+ feet from my house. It's too risky to try to lug enough boiling water that far. Just not practical.

Leaving Hawaii tomorrow. Before we left home I transplanted some seedlings into bigger pots and built a second green house rack.

My bulbs are all coming up and the trees are blooming.

In the garden I have radishes, beets, cilantro, carrots, garlic, cauliflower, broccoli, peas, and potatoes chugging along.

Still getting some frost so the potatoes aren't super thrilled with that but they're okay.
