Bought some local hot weather seeds: Gila River kaña (sorghum), red malabar spinach (not really spinach but a climbing leafy vine), okite and golden amaranth for the chickens. W'pegi bawi and U'us mu:ñ (beans), beit alpha cucumber, and chimayo (Mexican cantaloupe) for us (and probably the chickens, too).

got the fruit tree area dialed in this morning and then moved to the garden.
I weeded and put down wood chips, seeded cilantro, basil, beets, green beans, cucumber. Had some cottage cheese and hummus at 2 . When all was done I lightly watered.
The peas I planted, ? A week ago? Or so sprouted, poked through the dirt.

Worked until 4:30..

A girl just took a picture of the allium flowers and it says it is 3 cornered garlic and then 3 cornered leek. It's edible so yes I will be transplanting some to the garden.

What did you do in your garden today?

I picked a bunch of Rattlesnake green beans and Cherokee wax beans, a few tomatoes, three eggplants, some broccoli shoots, and jalapenos. Pretty happy with today's harvest!

It is still in the 20's at night here. I only looked at it, lol.

Nothing today. Took photos. The size this year is 30x90. Seeds are planted - Corn, peas, onions, potatoes. Plans for cucumbers, tomatoes, various peppers and whatever else.

got a bunch of rain so far so it just looks muddy.

I've been busy.... Yesterday was a big day. I forgot to eat. That's how busy. I got a gnarly sunburn. It's almost gone already. Thanks to my genes I guess. Changed this photo. Original was too much for me.

deleted the prior. There's no frame there.


Literally almost all of that burn is just brown now. No pain. Choctaw blood in my favor I guess. It won't peel either.

I pruned a bunch of suckers and downward facing branches off of my fruitless mulberries in the front. No photos of that.
Pulled all of the weeds off of the front pathway.

After. But before mowing.

Mowed the front yard, mowed the back, mowed the clover.

Today I started more seeds. There's so many pots in my shed now.

Pulled weeds, cleaned the chicken coop, put down more mulch, picked radishes and a carrot.

A single carrot. . There's lots more though.

DS found a praying mantis egg sac today!

Tiny chicks are doing good. One of my big girls isn't doing so well. She's got an impacted crop I think. Trying everything though

Where are you where you are getting a burn like that already?

I'm a red head. I burn with LED lights seemingly lol. Ain't no way I'm recovering from that burn haha.

Well, Central Coast Cali. But I was outside from 8:30 until 4:10 pm. I would have been out longer except my alarm to go pick up my kiddo set me straight. I'm a weird mutt. Lol

forgot you have more humidity. a box with a lid or a barrel work for us.
