What did you do in the garden today?

Cut down the tree which was holding my old wheelbarrow „captive“

My oldest hen ( will hopefully turn 12 in August) has started laying again

Wow, your little hen is to be 12 and laying eggs, that is so good. I am looking forward to see my chickens live to that age. ❤️

I thought the picture of the tree holds your wheelbarrow captive could be an illusion photograph. The wheelbarrow must had been there since the tree was very small?

I planted 10 more tomatoes yesterday. Looks like I'm growing more peppers than tomatoes this year. DH demanded that I grow at least one tomatillos plant. I assured him that there are going to be plenty of volunteers and that I need to do no such thing. 🤣

I dumped a bucket of soaking, rotting, carrots and radishes into the garden. That, was genuinely one of the stinkiest things I've ever concocted on accident. I let DS harvest a bunch of carrots and he put them in said bucket of water so they wouldn't wilt. I forgot about them. 😭 Turned 4# of carrots into fertilizer instead of pickled carrots. 😔🥴

It's spring break here. So I'm thinking I'll be able to get most of the weeds pulled and trees fertilized this week. Then we go camping this weekend. Last mountain trip of the season.

G’morning gardeners. I didn’t do anything outside today other than clean waterers. The ducks make such a mess out of ALL of them. I was a little worried about the mesquite tree out front, we’ve not had much rain even though it has been more than last year, so I watered it and it has begun to green up in places it wasn’t before.
