That's about right. We try to get rid of them and they give us a what for.

New roof, new siding, new deck for me.
can repair the greenhouse enough to get it through the season myself
I can repair the roof of the brand fricken new chicken broody coop myself.
I lost all the planters in the garden tower.
few branches in the orchard.
It dented the crap out of the metal siding too.
I am exhausted and we got off easier than others.
Contractor and claims guy will both be here tomorrow.

I'm glad you and your family are safe! I saw the radar and wondered if the tornado by Murdock was close by you. Sorry you went through all of that. Sounds just awful

I weeded the onions, shallots, beets and brassicas this afternoon. The brassica bed got a nice, green layer of grass clippings mulch.

It was so cold and windy today all day that nothing was possible outside. Made a pot of chili and pulled mushrooms out of my seedlings. I up potted my tomatoes and peppers into "Kellogg organic potting soil" I thought it looked like it had some mulch looking pieces in it. Now, every day I pull mushrooms out of the seedlings soil. My peppers seem ok but my tomato plants are struggling. Our weather forecast starting Monday looks pretty nice so going to just start hardening them off. They will do better in the ground in ten days then in whatever is growing in the potting mix.

Sat on my lawnchair and watched the chooks, chooks did them same - sat on me and watched me - it still isn’t very warm, at least the grass isn’t growing… yet!

Thank you. My chickens eat them and they are very hard to remove as they have long sterms.
One good thing about them is that they smell really good.

I did a quick google and some returned that it is not good for chickens to eat anything that belong to the Mint family.

They will be removed

my chickens have always eaten mint. good for their health too. that's my experience.

Thanks! It's good to have it done and out of the way. I'll need to drive some posts and rig up a 10 foot tall trellis for the beans too.

If I could figure out a way to make to top half of the trellis hinge down to horizontal it would be ideal for picking the beans, instead of climbing up and down a ladder.

I saw roots coming out of a couple of my air layered mango tree pods. The roots were coming out of the breathing holes on the side of a pod. These pods were stuffed with a 50/50 peat and perlite mix. Based on the results of different substrates, I conclude that fine coco coir, stringy peat moss and 50/50 peat and perlite mix, can be used to air layer mango trees. However, it must be used with Hormex no. 8 rooting powder. Also, I didn't have to close any openings on the pods and the pods are made to be kept moist from frequent watering from the top of the pods. The large size amazon pod in the picture doesn't have the breathing holes on the side. I don't like the ones with the breathing holes on the side because I will be damaging the roots coming out of it when I take the pod off.
