Thanks for the reminder. I need to make a bucket of weed tea fertilizer myself now that there are lots of weeds growing. Might even drop a couple chicken turds in the bucket for good measure. The rest will go in the liquid fertilizer jug.

Yes, it has been 30 years since I planted down, but it is older than that. I will just leave it as it is.30 yo? I would leave it alone.
Is there any possibility it could be just root rot? If they all start dying then I would think that it is fusarium with the description.OK, this diagram of my hoop house is about 80% accurate on where stuff is... I marked the 2 beds where the lettuce is dying. I'm wondering if it's fusarium wilt? The whole plant just suddenly collapses/wilts. When you pull up the plant, the central stem is mush and orange/brown inside. I know fusarium is soil borne... So far none of the other beds are affected. I marked with an X the general location of the plants affected. Anyone ever dealt with that before?

If you roast them with a little olive oil and salt in your oven it makes the sugars come out to crisp up and caramelize the edges. They are yummy that way.Does anyone grow parsnips? I’ve never had them and I’m thinking about trying them in the fall. Wondering what they taste like?
I ordered lambs quarters seed because what grows wild here ends up as chicken forage or it gets trampled to death.
I’m thinking about an in ground garden in an area that would be used mostly in spring and fall. Looking through my supplies to see if I can swing a fence around it without buying materials. If I have enough I’m going to put the compost things in it and build the soil right where it sits.
So pretty!Lost 3 more lettuce plants...Going to have to plant more but it won't be in the same area...
Got my hugelkultur bed finally completed... I've got a mound of rotting pine tree, then a layer of compost, greens, and some soil. Tossed some sand I had on the pile, then some leftover garden soil on top. Here's the end result...

Afterwards, I planted some Cushaw, watermelon, pumpkin, and zucchini... Will let all of that spread over the area...

Irises are blooming everywhere. They are so pretty... I have literally hundreds of bulbs. Some came with the house. Others belonged to my mom. I took them from her house after she passed away.
