What did you do in the garden today?

It’s still a bit cold where I live for outdoor planting, so I’ve got started seeds inside. My favorite is a cute basil Im going to get lots of pesto from, and I had a bad dream my family pruned all the leaves off! 🙃I was very upset until I realized it was just a dream.
It must be the moon or something. Garden dreams and "nightmares" every night here. 🤣

Hmmm.... Lots of questions. What kind of fertilizer did you use and what is the soil comp and pH? Humidity levels in the hoop? Ambient temp average and soil moisture? Hanging pots above? Water dripping from condensation into that area?

I've experienced this when it was too wet and cool. And too warm and wet. Especially with overhead watering.
I haven't watered at all because we've had over 13-14" of rain in the past few months. Nothing overhead. No condensation dripping in those areas either. No fertilizer. The ground is solidly moist but not sopping... This, however, is part of the area that flash flooded a few weeks ago. The area was very very wet for several days. Just weird that some plants were affected but not all in the same area.

Well thanks to @WthrLady suggestion on the mints, I managed to capture the trash panda that was raiding the barn! 👏 I didn't have any horse treats so I made a trail with those soft butter mints you get at restaurants... It worked! Cats ignored it but the coon found it irresistible. Dude has been released at the state park, far from homes.

I got 2 more hanging grow bags planted with strawberry roots and hung on a new pole. I think the next 2 empty bags I’ll plant the excess runners so no more purchasing. These are all ever bearing strawberries from Gurneys. I had ordered a ph and garden soil fertility tester from Amazon and it arrived today. It works really well. So the small pea bed is ready to plant. I need to finish cleaning the 16 foot long bed to plant peas in there as well. This morning I removed the frost cover from the asparagus bed. Yay! There are 10 tips coming up and looking good. My purple azalea is blooming now. So the next few days I’ll be planting the peas and potatoes. The temperatures have been nice, although a little warmer than average. Since our last frost date is 15 May, everything I’m planting can be easily covered if the temperatures plummet. I haven’t checked on my grapes in a couple of weeks so hopefully I can get up there later today. I had an exceptionally handsome dude visit this morning. This is one of my favorite things to see when starting the day.

Going to mow here today 74 is expected no rain.
Morning Gardeners, DH is home tomorrow.
I just finished mowing my yard. Glad he's coming home.

I did some more work to the deer fence today. Got the bean trellis figured out and put up, and the posts for the "gate" in place. I'll be able to walk under the angled part of the trellis and pick beans from underneath.

I'll add extensions to the corner posts so they're eight feet high and run string/rope around the top to stop deer from hopping over.

I'm going to put boards between the posts, 6 inches above ground level. Then chicken wire above those. That way I can use the weed eater around the fence without getting it caught in the chicken wire.
