What did you do in the garden today?

Today I dug out the rest of the grass that was growing into the rhubarb bed, and then covered the resultant bare ground with leaves. Lots and lots of steps today.

I bought 3 rhubarb crowns at a local garden supply, but they might be dead. I planted them in pots so that I could keep a close eye on them, and I don't see anything happening. Yet.
:fl:fl:fl:fl:fl
If they don't make it, I will be ordering some for next spring.

It drinks a gallon of water a day?
The one in the wicking bucket is getting plain water added to the 2-gallon reservoir once every 2 to 3 days. The reason why this one gets water only is because I mixed in enough organic fertilizer and lime to the potting mix to feed it for a few months.

I think that I need to read more about the cukes. They sound delicious. I have had mool kimchi, and I love it. Hanguk umshik is a real labor of love.
Also: those Japanese cucumber vines are lovely. They remind me of water lilies.

ETA: my grapevine is recovering, finally, from being trimmed back last fall. I'm trying to train it to an espalier form. I've never done it before, but it was here when we moved in, and it was a big bushy mess, so I wanted to try and keep it. The fence post was all that was supporting it, and I've driven many fence posts, but I don't know how to remove one. Lol.

Sometimes those crowns are guaranteed? For a year?

1000...? Wow. :bow
Yep, I used to do 1000 starts a year. I have no idea where all these self-sufficient people disappeared to, but I don't even have a sale set up for this year, and only 3 pre-order customers. It's astounding how fast people have slipped back into their old routine of grocery stores and bland food.
