What did you do in the garden today?

I think that I need to read more about the cukes. They sound delicious. I have had mool kimchi, and I love it. Hanguk umshik is a real labor of love.
Also: those Japanese cucumber vines are lovely. They remind me of water lilies.

ETA: my grapevine is recovering, finally, from being trimmed back last fall. I'm trying to train it to an espalier form. I've never done it before, but it was here when we moved in, and it was a big bushy mess, so I wanted to try and keep it. The fence post was all that was supporting it, and I've driven many fence posts, but I don't know how to remove one. Lol.

It rained here off and on all day. I did 6 loads of laundry, potted those two blackberry plugs, worked on the pool, got the pH under control, alkalinity down, put in some copper algicide, added water, running the vacuum. Took off the cover but hopefully the chlorine stays up. Running the generator on overdrive. I may add some bleach to boost it. The salt wouldn't hurt. I made soup. Did some spring cleaning around the house. Drinking my favorite 4 roses select with an ice cube right now. DH got it for me years ago for my birthday. 💚 I hardly ever get into it but I wanted to enjoy it today.

I can't use wood when I redesign my next nest box. I hate when I see termite eaten wood, it freaks me out. I am thinking about using metal Unistrut with heavy duty milk crates...............However, both Unistrut and milk crates are expensive. It cost $69 for 4 milk crates on amazon.

are there grocery shops or markets that throw away crates? I get them for free. they are not milk crates, they are used for vegetables/fruits and they are rectangular but do the job.

Sometimes those crowns are guaranteed? For a year?
Not sure... In any case, I don't think I saved the packaging and the receipt. They don't refund your money, they send you replacements, IIRC.

If these don't make it, I'll order from one of my favorite companies for next spring.

Wiggle it until it loosens the dirt to pull it up and out. Works for me.
