What did you do with your flock today?

It is more like what we did outside of the coop. The last three days we put up a 10x20 chicken run for Coop I. We have a few more things to do before we are finished. We could not help ourselves. We needed to see how our chickens like their new run. Here’s a view from the top. We used 1/2” hardware on the sides. We are going to hang a swing for them to jump on this week.

Last weekend I wanted to spend some time with Callia, but she spends 1-2 hours per day in her favorite bush, where she has a nest.

So I let her be, figuring that she must've been trying to lay an egg. I went back later and this is how I found her. All proud in the sunlight. What a queen.

As a friend of mine said, "she's the most hen-shaped hen I've ever seen".
