What does top dressing mean?

Does top dressing literally mean just that? Adding that element on top of the normal feed? I was given some Egg Maker and told to top dress me normal feed with that. Do I just add that literally on top of their daily feed? Any advice would be helpful.

Top dressing feed with a product means you add that product to the feed. You can mix it in or just literally put some on top, it's your choice.
