What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

The dog industry changed drastically, or is that radically, about ten years ago. Maybe a little more, as things always happened longer ago than I remember them happening now ;)

Probably 13-14 years ago I purchased a German line, show quality, GSD. With all the dysplasia and elbow tests done to both parents. And the stud titled out the wazoo both in the ring and working, Shutzhund, Mondio Ring, PP, Iron Dog...

$1200 for my girl.

Today I look and people are asking 4-5000 and the parents don't come close.

But the markup on even lousy dog food has gone way up, dog toys, dog grooming, veterinary service including some new recommended things like senior exams for a six year old dog...

Everything has gone up.
Gone are the days where even BYB's keep their prices within reason.

I know. I've been looking.

Oh wow

I would take one full grown and trained, something that could appear to be aggressive and without a desire to roam. I started to say I would take one my friends mom picked up but after talking with her a bit more realized that dog was where he belonged her mother just hasn't realized it yet.

I've actually lost two dogs in the last six weeks and not sure about getting another one.
