Please don't be confused here. Day old chicks are pullets and cockerals, however the ability to sex them at that age is only 95% accurate.

pullet to me means a NICE young hen, and MEAN young hens are ROOSTERS TO BE

a pullet is a female chicken under 1 year old:, then it is called a hen after she is 1 year and I do believe that pullets may lay a lot of eggs but they are small, and after their first molt the eggs will be bigger and so it goes as the hen gets older

cockerel: a male fowl less than one year old
cock: a male fowl one year old or more
hen: a female fowl. for exhibition purposes, a female chicken or turkey one year old or more.
pullet: for exhibition purposes, a female fowl less than one year old.

The word rooster is not in the Glossary .

Rooster is simply a slang term for a male chicken
But then again it's your chicken I guess you can call it anything you want.
